ISLAMABAD, Sept. 12: Prime Minister Shehbaz Sharif announced on Friday that Pakistan will host the next Shanghai Cooperation Organisation (SCO) summit in 2027 and urged authorities to begin preparations immediately.
Speaking at a road development project in Rawat, Rawalpindi, Sharif said Islamabad must be ready to welcome international delegates by enhancing infrastructure and building adequate accommodation. “We need to start preparing now. Islamabad must be beautified and equipped to host the summit successfully,” he emphasized.
The prime minister did not announce the exact date for the summit, which rotates among member states.
