KUALA LUMPUR: (Oct 27) External Affairs Minister S Jaishankar on Monday met New Zealand Prime Minister Christopher Luxon and Malaysian Foreign Minister Mohamad Haji Hasan on the sidelines of the ASEAN Summit in Kuala Lumpur, where discussions focused on strengthening bilateral ties and regional cooperation.
During his meeting with Prime Minister Luxon, Jaishankar conveyed “warm greetings” from Prime Minister Narendra Modi and reviewed ongoing collaboration in trade, education, and mobility. The two leaders also discussed opportunities for deeper engagement in the Indo-Pacific region.
In a separate meeting with Malaysian Foreign Minister Hasan, Jaishankar reaffirmed India’s commitment to advancing the ASEAN-India Comprehensive Strategic Partnership, emphasizing cooperation in connectivity, technology, and security.
The talks come as Jaishankar represents India at the 20th East Asia Summit and the 22nd ASEAN-India Summit, where leaders are deliberating on regional stability, economic integration, and maritime security.
