Afghanistan Summons Pakistan’s Envoy Over Airspace ‘Violation’ and Civilian Casualties

Afghanistan summoned Pakistan’s Ambassador Ubaidur Rehman Nizamani to condemn alleged airspace violations and strikes in Nangarhar and Khost that killed three civilians.

Islamabad, August 28: Afghanistan’s Foreign Ministry on Thursday summoned Pakistan’s Ambassador Ubaidur Rehman Nizamani to lodge a strong protest against what Kabul described as airspace violations and attacks on civilians near the border.

In a statement, the ministry said the move followed Pakistani military strikes on Nangarhar and Khost provinces, which left three civilians dead and seven injured.

“The violation of Afghan airspace and bombing of civilians near the Durand Line is a clear breach of Afghanistan’s territorial integrity and a provocative act,” the ministry declared, according to local outlet TOLO News.

Tensions between Kabul and Islamabad have risen in recent months over cross-border attacks and accusations of militant sanctuaries on both sides. Afghanistan has repeatedly urged Pakistan to respect its sovereignty while calling for dialogue to prevent further escalation.
