KATHMANDU, August 27: Nepal’s Prime Minister K P Sharma Oli will leave for China on Saturday for a five-day official visit during which he will attend the Shanghai Cooperation Organisation (SCO) Summit and take part in a military parade marking the 80th anniversary of the Chinese People’s War of Resistance Against Japanese Aggression.
According to Nepal’s Ministry of Foreign Affairs, Oli will visit China from August 30 to September 3 at the invitation of President Xi Jinping. The summit, to be held in Beijing, will bring together leaders from across the SCO member states to discuss regional security, economic cooperation, and connectivity.
Officials confirmed that the Prime Minister is also scheduled to visit India about two weeks after returning from China, in what is being seen as part of Kathmandu’s bid to balance ties with its two largest neighbors.
