Colombo, July 18, 2025 — SJB(Samagi Jana Balawegaya, MP Dayasiri Jayasekara has alleged that an official from KPMG Sri Lanka, which conducted a forensic audit on fuel distribution at the Ceylon Petroleum Storage Terminals Limited (CPSTL), was involved in deleting sensitive audit data.
Speaking to the media after filing a complaint with the Criminal Investigation Department (CID), Jayasekara said he plans to escalate the matter to KPMG International, the global parent firm.
The MP questioned the integrity of the audit, commissioned after a 2022–2023 fraud complaint by then Minister Kanchana Wijesekara. The Rs. 8.6 million audit report was released in February 2024, but no action has been taken on its recommendations.
Jayasekara also claimed that CPC officials accused of corruption, who had fled the country, have since returned and been reinstated following the change in government.
