Pakistan PM Shehbaz Sharif Leaves for Qatar to Attend Arab-Islamic Emergency Summit

Pakistan PM Shehbaz Sharif leaves for Qatar to attend an Arab-Islamic emergency summit on Israel’s airstrikes in Doha and the Gaza crisis.

ISLAMABAD, Sept. 15: Pakistan Prime Minister Shehbaz Sharif on Monday departed for Qatar to attend an emergency meeting of Arab-Islamic nations in Doha, called to discuss a unified response to Israel’s recent airstrikes on Hamas leadership in the Gulf nation.

The summit comes after Israeli airstrikes on September 9 in Doha killed five Hamas members and a Qatari security officer, sparking regional outrage and raising concerns over the worsening humanitarian situation in Gaza.

Sharif is accompanied by Defence Minister Khawaja Asif, Information Minister Attaullah Tarar, and PM’s Special Assistant Tariq Fatemi. Deputy Prime Minister and Foreign Minister Ishaq Dar is already in Doha ahead of the high-level meeting.

The visit underscores Pakistan’s support for the Arab-Islamic bloc’s efforts to address escalating tensions in the Middle East.
