Pakistan Army Chief Munir Repeats Anti-India Remarks During US Visit

New York, Aug 11: Pakistan’s Army Chief, Field Marshal Asim Munir, has once again reiterated his anti-India stance, calling Kashmir the “jugular vein” of Pakistan during an address to the Pakistani diaspora in Tampa, Florida.

Munir also vowed that Pakistan would safeguard its “water rights” at all costs, in a statement that comes amid simmering tensions with India over river water sharing and the long-standing Kashmir dispute.

His remarks were delivered just weeks before the recent terror attack in Pahalgam, Jammu & Kashmir. Munir asserted that Islamabad would “never forget” the Kashmir issue, adding, “It is our jugular vein.”

India swiftly dismissed the comments, calling them baseless and reiterating that Jammu & Kashmir is an integral part of the country.
