Gangtok, India, August 29: The Indian Army has partnered with Bisleri International Pvt. Ltd. to set up an eco zone for plastic waste management in Sikkim under the company’s flagship Bottles for Change (BFC) program.
The initiative, launched at Gangtok Military Station, is aimed at promoting sustainable practices and reducing plastic waste in the Himalayan state. A Letter of Association (LoA) and a Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) were signed in the presence of senior Army officials and Bisleri representatives, marking a joint effort to strengthen environmental protection measures in the region.
Through this collaboration, the Army and Bisleri intend to create awareness, encourage plastic segregation at source, and establish a robust recycling framework. The eco zone is also expected to serve as a model for similar projects across India, combining corporate social responsibility with national service efforts.
