India Invites Russian Firms to Invest in Space Innovation, Says Envoy

India has invited Russian firms to invest in its innovative space sector, citing new government schemes and opportunities in space technology, Envoy Vinay Kumar said in Moscow.

Moscow, August 28: India has called on Russian companies to invest in its growing space sector, highlighting opportunities in innovative ventures and market expansion, Indian Ambassador Vinay Kumar said on Tuesday.

Speaking at a function at the Indian Embassy in Moscow to mark the second National Space Day, Kumar noted that the Government of India has rolled out lucrative schemes to encourage foreign participation and create a supportive environment for space businesses.

The event also commemorated the successful deployment of the Pragyan Rover on the Moon aboard Chandrayaan-3 on August 23, 2023, which marked a milestone in India’s space exploration journey.

Kumar emphasized that closer cooperation in the space industry could build on the longstanding India-Russia partnership in science and technology, while also advancing India’s ambitions to position itself as a global hub for space innovation.
