BEGUSARAI: (Nov 1) Congress MP Priyanka Gandhi Vadra launched a sharp attack on the NDA during her first campaign rally in Bihar on Saturday, accusing the ruling alliance of hollowing out governance in the state and turning Bihar into a “remote-controlled government run from Delhi.”
“There is no double-engine government here — everything is controlled from Delhi,” she said at a rally in Begusarai, alleging that the Centre and state governments were “busy spreading divisive politics and fake nationalism” to distract from rising unemployment and mass migration.
Vadra also criticised the Election Commission’s Special Intensive Revision (SIR) process, claiming that “65 lakh voters” were wrongfully removed from Bihar’s electoral rolls. “The right to vote is the biggest right guaranteed by our Constitution, and this government is weakening it,” she said.
The Congress leader urged voters to focus on jobs, education, and farmers’ welfare instead of “hate politics,” accusing the NDA of ignoring Bihar’s economic distress.
“What we see today is politics of fear, not development. Instead of empowering people, they are erasing their voices,” she said.
Her remarks come as Bihar heads into a high-stakes assembly election, where unemployment and governance have emerged as key campaign issues.
