Pakistan–Afghanistan border firing: Pakistan on Tuesday accused the Afghan Taliban of carrying out “unprovoked firing” along the Pakistan–Afghanistan border, warning that any further aggression would trigger a severe response.
The latest Pakistan–Afghanistan border firing reportedly occurred in the sensitive frontier areas of Torkham and Tirah, key sectors along the volatile boundary between the two countries.
The incident comes just days after Pakistan conducted airstrikes inside Afghanistan, targeting what it described as terrorist hideouts following a series of deadly attacks within its territory.
Prime Minister’s spokesperson for international media, Mosharraf Zaidi, said in a post on social media platform X that the “Afghan Taliban regime initiated unprovoked firing” in the affected border sub-sectors.
