CHANDIGARH, Sept. 16: The southwest monsoon began its withdrawal from parts of flood-affected Punjab and neighbouring Haryana on Tuesday, the India Meteorological Department (IMD) said.
In its latest bulletin, the IMD stated: “Today, the southwest monsoon has further withdrawn from some more parts of Rajasthan, some parts of Gujarat, Punjab and Haryana. The line of withdrawal now passes through Bathinda, Fatehabad, Pilani, Ajmer…”
The weather department added that conditions are favourable for the monsoon to retreat further from additional areas of Punjab and Haryana over the next two to three days.
