CHHATRAPATI SAMBHAJINAGAR, Sept 25 – At least 84 people have died in rain-related incidents across eight districts of Maharashtra’s Marathwada region during the ongoing monsoon season, officials said Wednesday.
The affected districts include Chhatrapati Sambhajinagar, Jalna, Latur, Parbhani, Nanded, Hingoli, Beed, and Dharashiv.
Officials reported that heavy rainfall and flooding in recent days have destroyed crops over lakhs of acres and caused significant property losses. Rescue and relief operations are continuing in the worst-hit areas.
