DHAKA (Oct 10) — Bangladesh on Thursday welcomed the ongoing dialogue between Hamas and Israel aimed at ending the war in Gaza, voicing hope that the talks would lead to a lasting peace and the creation of an independent, sovereign State of Palestine.
In a statement, the Ministry of Foreign Affairs reaffirmed Bangladesh’s belief that “diplomacy and dialogue are the only means to resolve any conflict,” and commended all parties engaged in facilitating negotiations to end the humanitarian crisis in Gaza.
Dhaka expressed optimism that the dialogue would bring about an immediate ceasefire, the resumption of humanitarian aid, and relief for the people of Gaza, who have endured immense suffering since the conflict began.
“Bangladesh hopes that, by ending the ongoing war in Gaza, this diplomatic process would pave the way for the realization of an independent and sovereign State of Palestine,” the statement said.
Reiterating its unwavering solidarity with the Palestinian people, Bangladesh renewed its support for a two-state solution based on pre-1967 borders, with East Jerusalem as the capital of Palestine.
The government also signaled its readiness to contribute to peacekeeping and reconstruction efforts in Gaza, underscoring its long-standing commitment to promoting peace, stability, and justice in the Middle East.
