BAHRAIN: (Oct 30) India’s young athletes continued their dominant run at the Youth Asian Games, securing three gold and one silver in boxing, along with three gold and two silver medals in beach wrestling on Thursday.
In boxing, Khushi Chand, Ahaana Sharma, and Bhoreshi Pujari struck gold in their respective weight categories, while Lanchenba Singh Moibungkhongbam earned silver after a close final bout.
The Indian contingent also shone in beach wrestling, adding three gold and two silver medals to the tally, further solidifying the country’s presence among the top-performing nations at the Games.
With these wins, India’s overall medal count has climbed to 41, comprising 12 gold, 15 silver, and 14 bronze medals — reflecting the growing strength of its youth sports program across disciplines.
