ISLAMABAD: (Oct 18) Pakistan Army chief Field Marshal Syed Asim Munir on Saturday warned that Islamabad would deliver a “decisive response” to any Indian provocation, cautioning that there is “no space for war in a nuclearised environment.”
Addressing the graduation ceremony of army cadets at the Pakistan Military Academy (PMA) Kakul in Abbottabad, Munir said Pakistan’s forces are fully prepared to defend the nation’s sovereignty and territorial integrity.
“I advise and firmly caution India’s military leadership that there is no space for war in a nuclearised environment,” he said, adding that Pakistan’s armed forces were capable of responding “swiftly and effectively” to any external threat.
Munir’s remarks come amid heightened tensions between India and Pakistan following Defence Minister Rajnath Singh’s recent comments that “every inch of Pakistan’s territory lies within range of BrahMos missiles.”
The Pakistani military has in recent days also faced escalating clashes along the Afghan border, with Munir warning Kabul on Saturday to “choose between peace and chaos.”
