ISLAMABAD, Sept 18: Pakistan’s jailed former prime minister Imran Khan has written to Chief Justice Yahya Afridi, accusing the Islamabad High Court of bias and raising concerns about the alleged rigging of the 2024 general elections, Dawn reported Thursday.
The letter, dated September 16 and delivered by PTI lawmaker Latif Khosa, urged the chief justice to intervene and direct the Islamabad High Court to hear several “critical petitions” that Khan claimed have been “hanging in the doldrums” for months.
The former prime minister’s move highlights growing tensions between his Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf (PTI) party and the judiciary following his conviction and imprisonment earlier this year.
