KATHMANDU (Oct 11) — Nepal’s President Ramchandra Paudel, 80, was admitted to the Manmohan Cardiothoracic and Vascular Transplant Centre in Kathmandu on Saturday after he suddenly fell ill, officials said.
According to the President’s Office, Paudel was rushed to the hospital after he complained of a severe headache and vomiting earlier in the day. Medical authorities confirmed that his condition is currently stable.
Hospital sources said doctors have conducted preliminary examinations and are closely monitoring his health. “There is no immediate cause for concern,” a senior medical official said.
Paudel, who has been serving as Nepal’s President since March 2023, has faced occasional health issues in the past and was briefly hospitalised earlier this year for respiratory complications.
